Who are we as readers? As writers? As lifelong learners?
This year in ELA we will work to answer these questions as we dlve into a variety of genres. We will develop our own taste as readers as we engage with increasingly complex texts. We will find our voices as writers as we work to research, offer opinions, convey ideas and craft our own narratives.
Highlights of the year include genre studies, digital publishing, multimedia presentations, research projects and more! We will also use mindful practices to quiet our inner critics and celebrate our natural creativity.
An important component of class is collaboration. We will work together to share ideas, offer suggestions and lend support. Room 18 is a community of learners who are respectful and kind to one another.
