PRIOR NOTIFICATION
A staff member eligible for FMLA must give at least a 30-day written advance notice to the Superintendent if the need for the leave is foreseeable. A staff member eligible for NJFLA must give at least a 15-day written advance notice for the serious health condition of a family member. Please see Policy 1643, Family Leave. The written notice shall include the reasons for the leave, the anticipated duration of the leave and the anticipated start of the leave. In an emergency situation, a staff member should give notice to the Superintendent for leave as soon as practicable under the facts and circumstances of the particular case.
