Students have the opportunity for exploration and participation in the process of creating and responding to art. All of the visual components of line, color, shape, form, space and texture are incorporated and analyzed in two- and three- dimensional works of art. Students will use a variety of media and tools to construct two and three-dimensional works of art. Acquiring the necessary language and visual art vocabulary needed to critique, classify and categorize art is critical. Students will continue to learn about the characteristic style, media, and techniques used by famous artists and the influence of the arts throughout history and across cultures. An emphasis is placed on students gaining broad-based exposure to multicultural art, pieces of artwork that have an essence of a certain culture or theme.
